About Us

Preserving history and gracious Texas hospitality.

The Heritage Society of Washington County is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the preservation of historical buildings and artifacts, and to promoting education and interest in Washington County, Texas.

The Heritage Society of Washington County operates three historic properties.

Established in 1970, the Society owns and operates three historic properties: the 1898 Ross Carroll Bennett House, the 1843 Giddings Wilkin House Museum and the 1870 Giddings Stone Mansion.

We accomplish our mission and maintain these properties through historical home tours, rental of the facilities for events, antique and trunk shows, fundraising Galas and membership dues.
